Microbiology Food Testing
Our microbiology food testing lab boasts 32 SANAS accredited methods in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025. We employ the services of qualified scientists and technicians. At FCS, we conduct a full range of Microbiological analyses of food for both human and animal consumption. We specialise in testing of foods, swabs, and water.
The FCS Kitchen Hygiene Audit is designed to evaluate the hygiene, sanitation, food safety and facilities in kitchens in the food service industry. The audits are performed for clients in the hotel, gaming, restaurant, retail and catering industries and are tailor made to the unique needs of each client. The kitchen hygiene audits are based on the R638 legal requirements, SANS 10049 and microbiological best practice.
Legionella Risk Audits
Legionnaires disease is a form of pneumonia caused by Legionella bacteria, which kills about 13% of those infected. The disease is caught by breathing in aerosols (which form from fine water droplets) containing the Legionella bacteria. At FCS we provide Legionella risk audits as well as Legionella water testing in our own laboratory.
Sensory evaluation is an invaluable tool to Quality Control as well as Research and Development. Customers perceive product quality with their senses, and as a result, organoleptic evaluations are an essential component of any Quality Control evaluations. At FCS we provide benchmarking tests.
Food Factory Microbiological Testing
At FCS, we provide microbiological testing of raw ingredients, final products, surface swabs, staff hygiene swabs as well as water tests, in our SANAS accredited microbiology lab. We offer expert advise on the testing requirements through our food safety consultants.
